skinny love: the five

Blazer: TJ Maxx, Shirt: Plato's Closet, Pants: Wet Seal, Shoes: Payless

Who is ready for the skinny challenge?! I wish I was talking about getting in shape... but I am not. I am talking about the skinny jean challenge! I got a few emails asking me to show a few ways I wear my colored skinny jeans. For the next two weeks all my posts will be colored skinny jeans and different ways to wear them.

I want to start this out with five suggestions from yours truly...

1. Color block: If any of you don't know what this is, google it. Color blocking is great. Grab your bright skinnies and contrast them with a bright top or a neutral top and a bright blazer!

2. Neutralize: This is a safe bet. I know some of you aren't quite comfortable enough to rock the color block style. Neutrals are always safe whether it is a white or black top, cream blazer or any other neutral top.

3. Patterns: Yes! I love patterns. Especially animal print. Also, stripes, polka dots or a fun punchy, bold print. Again, for those of you who are not quite comfortable with the bold tops, try branching out with your shoes. Try a fun patterned heel or flat!

4. Denim on Denim: Enough said. Denim shirts are in. Denim on color is fantastic. Pair that denim and color with a printed shoe again or even a fun bootie.

5: Day and Night: Don't be afraid to dress up your casual colored skinnies. Add some heels, a fancy top or blazer and some fun jewelry. You can easily pull off the day or night look with any colored jeans.

And like I always say, be creative. Throw things together that you normally wouldn't. You will surprise yourself with what you can come up with and what you can pull off. Happy dressing girls!

XO.
